I'm 17. Haven't done a jazz solo since I was 13. Or any jazz for that matter. I want something up beat and fun, kind of advanced because this is my 10th year dancing. Preferably something from the radio, pop music. Like I said, I'm 17, so I want something mature but still competition appropriate. Thanks!

Michael Buble songs are great for sassy jazz dances.

But you could also do any type of song you would use in a lyrical dance.

Check on YouTube. There are tons of examples. :)

Here are some ideas, and some songs I've danced to in jazz class...

Blurred Lines- Robin Thicke

You can't stop the beat- Hairspray

Welcome to the 60's- Hairspray

Dance with me tonight- Olly Murs

Waka Waka- Shakira

Rock around the Clock- Bill Haley

Good Feeling- Michael Buble

Teeth- Lady GaGa

There's a mixture of some more old songs and some more modern ones- how I helped!! :)

I've always wanted to do a tap solo to Gonna Get Over You by Sara Bareilles. It could probably work for jazz as well.

Or something by John Mayer!
