My first pointe shoe is bloch european balances 5.5 xxxx soft shank. What size would I be if I were to try sonatas? I want to find if there are better shoes out there. Thanks in advance for all of you ballerinas who take there time to answer my question.

Hi Kayla. :)

Hey! My first pair of pointe shoes were 5.5 Blochs too! They were nice for my first pair, but when I started trying different shoes, I found that I didn't like Blochs near as much. They don't give very much support.

Really, the only way you can know what size to get is to get them fitted.

Wherever you go to buy your pointe shoes, there should be someone there to help you and fit your feet. And it also depends on your type of foot. Personally, I like Grishkos. If you have a slim/average width foot, I'd recommend those. They really shoe off your feet nicely.

You should get fitted so you can try out a bunch of different kinds and make sure you get the right size.
