As a very Christian tanguero, I'm pretty sure I exist. While the popular image of Argentine tango is sultry, it's the same as anything else where the (craziest/loudest/most scandalous) thing rises to public attention while the truth is pretty tame. As it's danced in Argentina today, you'll find children practicing with their parents, large village gatherings where everyone dances with everyone else, and open classes and institutes for the dance just like ballet.

The characteristics of Tango music are an altering melody, a captivating beat, and a lot of the Buenos Aires stuff has lyrics about the struggles of daily life and the mood of the city. Focusing on the "struggle" and good beat, we can definitely find a good match.

I'm very fond of Jars of Clay, and I think "Flood" would make a good milonga. "Give Me Your Eyes" also works.

Well, you could waltz to (On the Wings of a Dove)

Foxtrot: Go Down Moses

The rest of the dances, are not movements that that would glorify the Lord. So I can't really give you an answer for them. God did tell his people to dance & rejoice but the argentine tango can in no way be construed as a dance that a true Christian would do to glorify God.

I am a ballroom dancer and I'm not sure if you should dance to christian music. But I do think " Breath of Heaven" would be a pretty bolero.
