I know it's not the exact same as a ballet dancer, it's more muscle correct? so what would be a proper weight and height/body type and the diet to go with it, for a proffesional if this style. I do all styles of dance, but am most interested in modern and contemporary.

For contemporary or modern you can have any body type as long as it is in the best condition possible and that you are mostly elongated muscle and solid with a nice line. Where a ballet dancer at 5' 5" should weigh about 105, a contemporary dancer that height could be around 110-120 lbs.

Frankly it depends on the dance company and its artistic direction. Most companies have a "standard" but I have reviewed others where the dancers vary in body type and even body dis/ability.

As someone who has reviewed dance companies in my time, I would like to more variety in the companies, performer-wise.

There's no proper weight/height for the body you want. You should try to got a dancer's body i.e. lone lean, toned, your stomach should be long lean, toned and curve a little, small butt, flexible. pretty much a dancer's body looks perfect.

I think that yoga would help :) .

Don't worry too much about diet, just eat healthy - 8 glasses of water a day and lots of fruit :D
