How can I make my canvas shoes look more flattering?

In preparation for the upcoming audition season, I really want to make my feet look as good as they can in canvas ballet shoes (I wear the Capezio Juliets, I think). Since I have a rather low instep but decent arches, I want to create a more flattering look. I find that when I go on releve, the soles of the shoes don't mold to my arch, instead just creating a line from the ball of my feet to the heel; you can relatively see nothing of my arch at all. I've already tried sewing the elastics to wear the archiest part of my foot is, but nothing seems to be working. Does anybody have any tips?

Perhaps you need a different shoe. As the Juliet is a split sole shoe, it should already cling to your arch unless it is a poor fit or just not the right shoe for you.

I would either switch brands or possibly you have too large of a size...I have had that problem before. I would go to a dance shoe store and ask the specialist for assistance in finding the brand most complimentary for your foot.
