You shouldn't really have any issues if your pointe shoes are well fitted. Since you are relatively new to dancing on pointe, be sure to have your shoes professionally fitted and then checked by your instructor.

I have a big toe longer than all my other toes, so I needed a toe saver, which goes right into the shoe and makes it more comfortable, and so there is less pressure on my big toe, but I have crazy feet :p

Bruises are normal, just make sure to buy yourself some toe tape & some good gel pads, try to avoid ouch pouches.

& maybe get some yoga toes too :) They keep your toes looking normal and are really nice on your feet to ease some of that pointe pain.

Good: It makes you look like a ballerina, younger dancers look up to you, it will strenghten you, keep you in shape, etc. Bad: Many pointe dancers develop problems with their feet and/or toes. They can devolp arthritis, break bones, and result in bruises and bumps.

I am 16 and started too early and have devolped tons of problems with my feet and ankles. I am also showing signs of arthritis at 16!!! I am not supposed to be doing pointe anymore, but as it is my love I continue doing it until I the pain finally causes me to stop.

I wish you many joys in your pointe experience and hope you continue developing skills as a dancer.

Omg I love heels! I wear heeled boots all the time and my Ugg obsessed friends always make fun of me. But heeled boots are so much cuter =). There is a possibility for those who dont know how to control heels to trip and maybe twist an ankle but nothing terrible should happen. Keep rocking your pumps and wedges!
